The job

What was there

A hot tub on a raised backyard deck, under a pergola, out in unincorporated Guadalupe County. The photos carry GPS from the camera, and it lands outside any city limit, so this page says county and stops there.

This is the harder version of a hot tub job. The tub is not on a concrete pad at ground level. It is on wood that the owner still has to live with, inside a structure with posts that limit which way it can travel.

How it went

Four steps, one trailer

  1. 01

Looked at the path before anything moved

The second photo is the crew standing around the tub working out how it comes off the deck and through the pergola posts. That look costs five minutes and saves a torn up deck.

  2. 02

    Tarps down over the decking

The spa was sitting on finished deck boards under a pergola. Tarps went down along the drag path first. A hot tub shell scrapes, and deck boards scratch.

  3. 03

Off the deck, not over the rail

A tub on a raised deck has to come down at some point. The route runs where the framing is strongest and the drop is shortest, not wherever is closest to the trailer.

  4. 04

    Everything left on the trailer

Shell, cover, steps, surround panels and the pump and heater equipment. The deck was left swept and clear, which is the whole point of tarping it first.

When the tub is built into the deck

If the decking is framed around the shell or the surround is part of the structure, part of the deck has to come out before the spa can move. That is demolition, and it is the same crew on the same trip. See deck removal.

Same day

A second hot tub the same day

Two spas came out on May 15, 2026. This one in Guadalupe County, the other up in San Marcos.

Guadalupe County sits between San Marcos and San Antonio. The closest city pages we run are New Braunfels and San Antonio.

Spa on a deck? It still comes out.

Drain it, kill the breaker, and tell us what it is sitting on. Guadalupe, Comal and Hays counties inside about 35 miles of San Marcos.
