Before the crew gets there
Shut the water off and disconnect the supply line on a washer or a dishwasher. Gas ranges and gas water heaters need the gas shut off and the line disconnected. Hardwired units need the breaker off. We are not plumbers or electricians, so anything still live has to be handled before the unit can leave.
Refrigerators, freezers and window AC units hold refrigerant, which is regulated under EPA rules. Say on the call which one you have so it is routed correctly.
Paint, solvents, chemicals, propane tanks, asbestos containing material and medical waste never ride along. Those need a licensed disposal route.
